don't need no credit card to ride this train

The power of love is a curious thing
make a one man weep, make another man sing
Change a hawk to a little white dove
more than a feeling that's the power of love

Tougher than diamonds, rich like cream
Stronger and harder than a bad girl's dream
make a bad one good make a wrong one right
power of love that keeps you home at night

You don't need money, don't take fame
Don't need no credit card to ride this train
It's strong and it's sudden and it's cruel sometimes
but it might just save your life
That's the power of love

Indian food: 1 Kelly: 0

Happy Sunday!

So, last night was a fun adventure. We got all dressed up and headed out to India palace. I was pretty excited because i had never been to an indian food restaurant before..and was not very curry-savvy..by any means. You know, looking back, I should have probably been a little cautious about that. But no, I went for it and got this spicy chicken curry with pineapple and all sorts of other weird stuff. Indians use so many spices! It was really really tasty despite how overwhelming the flavor was. seriously, if anyone loves indian food i recommend India palace on center street in provo. yum. Well everything was good until I came home. Lets just say, the indian food was only temporarily in my stomach...i guess even more temporarily than it usually would be. Well, needless to say, it might be a little while before i dive right into another bowl of curry. I'm not even really sure why that all happened. But, I still had fun and am glad I went..and despite how upsetting throwing up is, one stick of mint-chocolate gum and watching The Sixth Sense snuggled with my friends later, I was a happy girl once again.

Today is just a lazy, comfy day watching conference again with my roomies + ashley. I'm thinking I should savor this feeling before the busy busy week ahead (2 tests and a paper).

By the way, good luck to Michael who is performing with his acapella group for parents weekend today. Wish I could be there!

You know you wish you were here :)

In case you were wondering....

attention everyone:
I post this becuase i've recently been reminded about one of these things and they always end up amusing someone. Maybe I'm completely alone in this..but random words/phrases really bug me. No, professor Rebber, its not because of something weird in my childhood or anything..they just rub me the wrong way. Like nails on a chalkboard, or that one kid in 7th grade that would always drum on his desk behind me everyday. So, in case you were interested in how to annoy me, or you're just another one of those people who find these kind of things funny..its your lucky day.

how to make Kelly cringe:

  • Number one and potentially the most irritating one: the word moist. Something about it just kinda makes me feel ill.
  • the word crusty. again..not sure why but its just gross
  • when people call that meal that you eat in the evening supper. lehhhh
  • " line upon line, precept upon precpt" my mormon friends will really be the only ones to understand this one, and my roommate brenna kindly pointed out that my dislike for this phrase is not only strange, but is kind of like disagreeing with doctrine. I'm so sorry and i understand and agree with the concept..its just the phrase that bugs me. can't explain.
  • I used to babysit a lot and one of the moms i would babysit for would call a small cup with a lid you can drink out of a "sipper cup" instead of a "sippy cup" and for some reason it bugged me. My parents and sister really got a lot of fun out of that one.
  • I don't really like the cold, but one think i truly enjoy about winter is drinking this drink called hot chocolate. Its pretty common..and its pretty dang tasty. However, some people are compelled to call it hot cocoa and its very unnerving.
well, thats all I can think of right now. I hope this at least amused someone. My family loves to use each of these as frequent as they can to lovingly annoy me. At least i don't have a distinct fear of honeycomb pattern like my sister. What can i say? we're a family of freaks :)

lovekel.

TGIO (thank goodness its october)

Oh October..the mixed feelings I have for you. I guess its not time to be sad about it getting cold yet because provo is still in the upper 80s! All I want is a long autumn. Too much to ask?

I add this seemingly random picture because it makes me happy that those are my bracelets.

Happy Last day of September!

Oh hey :) I'm back

Okkaayyy so i slacked kind of a lot since my first two blog posts. But i'm determined this time!

Today, instead of boring you with updating about my life, I'm gonna keep it interesting with a little something we psychologists like to call 'free association'. AKA i'm just gonna write down really random stuff.

First of all..is it just me or does dreaming about someone make you think of them SO MUCH the next day? Sometimes good..sometimes really weird. just gonna leave it at that.

Today I found out that BYU actually DOES have a study abroad program in Greece. its actually in Greece, Italy, Egypt, Turkey, and maybe one or two other places. Cool eh? Too bad its over the summer when i really should go home, work, and chill with my fam. darn.

I really hate raisins except for these limited exceptions:
-in raisin nut bran cereal
- dark chocolate raisinettes
- in specific types of trail mix

I think i want to have a minor. But i have no idea what it should be. Should i go the artsy/music route? Or perhaps the government-y path with a political science or international relations minor? Or better yet, I could actually stick to something that is similar to my major, such as anthro or sociology. But then again i'd totally love to do something having to do with business like marketing or advertising. Sheesh!

I really want to be a kickboxing instructor. I'm talking like..this makes the top 20 things i want list.

I really don't like red meat, cereal, soda, enchiladas, or pickles.

I feel like i have a natural talent for public speaking that i need to pull out of a dusty box in the attic of my mind.

dancing makes me really happy.

people fascinate me. in a whole spectrum of ways.

i have this deep rooted love for owls and i'm not really sure where it came from (see above)

well thats all for now..i think i'll add some more random pictures just for fun on the next post.
